For over 30 years, Umbrella Family and Child Centres of Hamilton has enjoyed the reputation of being an organization that offers high-quality programs to children and their families. We operate 27 centres in public elementary schools throughout the City of Hamilton - including outlying areas - and provide service to over 2,400 children each day.

In operation since 1988, Umbrella is a non-profit corporation administered by a community-based Board of Directors who have a keen interest in early learning and childcare. Located within elementary schools, families appreciate the availability of a ‘seamless day’ for their children - early learning, care and education ‘under one roof’.

We are currently recruiting for a Program Supervisor to oversee one full day location and one satellite (extended day) program. The Supervisor will be responsible for providing a high-quality program that meets the individual needs of children and their families.

Qualifications required for the position include:

- College Diploma (or equivalent) in Early Childhood Education is required;
- Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing;
- Five (5) years of experience working within a childcare centre and two (2) years of people management experience;
- Experience working within a unionized environment is considered an asset;
- Working knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations, to carry out job responsibilities;
- Working knowledge and skill to provide professional expertise and guidance to directly supervised employees;
- Strong working knowledge of the CCEYA is required;
- A Satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, food handler’s certificate and standard first aid are also required;
- COVID-19 Vaccination required.
