**Position**:Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) Coordinator**

**Department: Community and Resource Development**

**Employment Status: Contract - 2 Years**

**Location: Naughton, ON**

**POSITION SCOPE**:
The Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) Coordinator is responsible for working in collaboration with mining proponents to ensure that established goals and objectives are met as per defined priorities, timelines, budgets, and work plans. The IBA Coordinator will create implementation plans necessary to advance documents such as Impact Benefit Agreement(s), Memorandums of Understanding, and other finalized contracts negotiated with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Mandatory Requirements_
- 4-year Bachelor Degree in Mining Engineering and 2-3 years’ experience in resource management and/or the mining process
- College Diploma in Mining Engineering Technology/Geology with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field
- Experience working with Gimaa and Council’s and other First Nations and/or cultural organizations
- Additional Requirements_
- Valid Class “G” Driver’s License
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Organizational, analytical, and administrative skills
- Ability to establish and manage priorities to ensure that services and functions are performed in an efficient and responsive manner
- Knowledge of resource management principles and practices
- Knowledge of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek culture and traditions
- Experience in compiling and writing detailed reports and briefing reports for Council

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Impact Benefit Agreement Coordinator shall:

- Participate in regional meetings pertaining to activities in shared territories.
- Work with the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Lands Department to complete impact studies, impact benefit studies and ensure environmental protection
- Consult with the Community Consultation Lead and Lead Negotiator to prepare material for engaging and informing Debendaagziwaad for feedback on proponent activities, and to understand their interests and needs
- Provide ongoing reports based on review or interpretation of documents, meetings attended, and proponent activity on site at the mine or exploration site
- Administration_
- Prepare monthly and annual program statistics, quarterly activity reports, and an annual report for the Director of Community and Resource Development and for membership
- Prepare monthly and annual program statistics, quarterly activity reports, and an annual report for the funder
- Ensuring the required reports and documentation are produced and are readily available
- Develop a yearly work plan and budget submissions
- Conduct research, compile data, and prepare papers as directed by the Director of Community and Resource Development
- Consultation and Public Relations_
- Assist the Community and Resource Development team and the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Negotiation Team in providing input in the preparation of consultation plans to ensure consideration of the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek’s interests and inherent rights are protected within the agreement(s)
- Educate the department on the provision of IBA documents in a confidential manner, consistent with the provisions of MOUs.
