Pension Analyst

The purpose of the role is to conduct day-to-day pension administration activities, with a focus on data review and accuracy, for the WSIB Employees’ Pension Plan (EPP). The incumbent conducts pension plan operational services, such as providing information in response to inquiries from internal and external parties and producing reports for use by the pension team and others.
**Major Duties & Responsibilities**
Perform data integrity activities on WSIB’s EPP
- Review assigned data on interfaces between WSIB and external third-party administrator (TPA) for the EPP, investigate and resolve plan member data issues and submit findings within the required turnaround times
- Liaise with internal business partners, such as Human Resources (HR) and Payroll, to resolve data discrepancies
- Examine data transfers for any underlying issues (such as errors resulting from upstream data entry), report findings to Senior Pension Analyst for investigation and corrective action
Provide Services and Information
- Act as a point of contact for day-to-day services to internal and external parties on pension plan matters: Finance, HR, WISE Trust, and the TPA. Provide oral and/or written responses, as necessary.
- Produce standard reports for the pension team and the union, as required
- Provide information to Human Resources, such as data on rehired pensioners
- Support year end activities and provide information requested by auditors
Support for pension administration and corporate projects
- Changes required due to new legislative provisions
- Implementation of a new technology or tool, or changes in processes
**Job Requirements**
Education
- University completion at the undergraduate level with a specialty focus in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or Economics
Experience
- Total of five years experience. Minimum of two years prior experience in pension plan administration. Three years on the job to reaching full working level.
