Pugmill Plant Operator

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Inputs numeric data and operational data into a computer system for plant production activities.
- Operates controls for loading trucks with material.
- Continuous monitoring of plant equipment and working in constant contact with the other personnel regarding operation and maintenance of equipment.
- Manage the production of the pugmill including the treatment mix required and monitoring the finished product
- Monitors material moisture, consistency and quality.
- Keep track of reagent usage such as cement and fly ash. Order truckloads of reagents multiple times per day to ensure there is sufficient material on hand for plant operation.
- Participates as a crewmember in daily production operations and assists in plant preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Reports mechanical failures, and/or material inconsistencies to supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience**:

- One year of experience in plant production and/or operations considered an asset.
- Must have transport to/from worksite
- Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly
- Knowledge of safety hazards and necessary safety precautions for self and others sufficient to be able to establish a safe work environment.
- General knowledge of maintenance practices and procedures sufficient to be able to assist in maintaining programs for preventive maintenance.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with other employees.
