**Job Title**:Field Service Technician

**Reports to**:Equipment Supervisor

**Job Summary**

Repairs and maintains electrical, mechanical, computer, and industrial controls of mechanical equipment that are located in production settings.

**Supervisory Responsibilities**

N/A

**Essential Duties**
- Proper installation of mechanical equipment
- Train Customers and Operators on the proper use of the equipment sold and serviced by Volm
- Prepare and test all equipment to be shipped by to shipment
- Troubleshoot existing equipment and new installations when issues arise
- Travel throughout North America for installations and service work required
- Load and unload equipment at both Volm & the Customer site
- Document all installation and service work performed in a timely manner, including expense reports, service reports, and time sheets
- Conduct phone service support when needed on a 24/7 basis

**Required Skills and Abilities**
- Ability to logically trouble shoot mechanical failure
- Knowledge and skill set to repair mechanical equipment
- Ability to interact with customers in a professional manner
- Calm demeanor under pressure
- Ability to indirectly supervise 6-10 people through supervisors or managers
- Ability to travel 75% of the time
- Clear verbal and written communication skills

**Education and Experience**
- Some College/associate degree in Electro-mechanical Technology is required
- Minimum of 1-year electro-mechanical experience
- Minimum of 1-year customer service experience
- Journeyman electrician is a plus
- Experience using PC’s, Microsoft Office, various PLC, and HMI software.

**Physical Requirements**
- Frequent working in extreme heat, humid areas, high noise, and hazardous areas
- Occasional working in extreme cold and/or wet areas
- Constant talking and hearing
- Frequent standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, handling, grasping, and reaching
- Hand eye coordination is required
- Occasional walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and repetitive motion

**Travel Requirements**
- This position may require up to 75% travel between location and vendor sites by use of company or personal motor vehicle
- Occasional travel to other out-of-state Volm and vendor facilities
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license, be a minimum of 21 years of age, and ability to hold a minimum personal auto liability insurance limit of $300,000 per accident, $300,000 per uninsured/underinsured motorist, and $100,000 personal property.

**Salary**: From $32.00 per hour
