**Key Accountabilities**:

- Critically analyze emerging policy changes, budget proposals, and tax incentives issued by the government to determine opportunities for Aecon. Includes gathering information and submitting requests for proposals for any applicable funding opportunities.
- Assisting with ESG data collection and supporting the development of a standard operating procedure for the communication of this data in formal documents, including ESG ratings, sustainability-related awards, and sustainability reporting
- Benchmarking of industry best practices for reporting standards, including SASB, TCFD, GRI, and assist with aligning company to standards
- Assisting in the development of an online resource for sustainable equipment and material procurement for employees
- Assisting in the consideration and implementation of sustainability pilots
- Assisting with sustainability related communications
- Including internal and external write ups for sustainability initiatives, employee engagement opportunities and events, and maintenance of internal employee sustainability website
- Monitor and analyze external sustainability trends in the construction industry
- Write up entries for environmental/ sustainability awards on behalf of Aecon, with the aim to promote internal good practices to wider community and help raise Aecon’s profile

**Job Requirements**

**Qualifications**:

- Enrolled in a Masters program related to sustainability, environment, Business, economics or combination of relevant education and/or experience
- Experience or coursework in energy efficiency, sustainability, environmental impact, accounting, or economics preferred.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:

- Experience or coursework in sustainability policy, energy efficiency, sustainability, environmental impact, accounting, or economics preferred.
- Professional interest in environmental education, community engagement, and leadership
- Enthusiasm for environmental education and sustainability; strong desire to learn
- Experience with community outreach programs and student organizations
- Experience with event planning and meeting facilitation
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to effectively organize and meet established deadlines.
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Experience in a busy team environment
