It is an exciting time to join the Sustainability team at Choice Properties Our ESG program has been expanding rapidly since we launched it in 2019 with building certifications, ESG reporting, the launch of a diversity, equity and inclusion program and a commitment to set science-based net zero targets.
We are looking for a winter co-op (4 or 8 month term) student to support with data related to ESG reporting and benchmarking. The Sustainability Co-Op will also assist with the rollout of Choice's BOMA BEST certification program across its retail, industrial and office portfolios.
This is a highly visible role that will provide you with the foundations of a successful career in sustainable real estate. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse group of internal and industry experts across a variety of property types.
**Responsibilities**:
- Responding to the annual Ontario Energy and Water Reporting & Benchmarking regulation and City of Montreal By-law on GHG emissions disclosure
- Supporting the preparation and submission of annual ESG disclosures which may include GRESB and CDP
- Assisting with coordinating submissions for BOMA BEST, LEED and other building certification programs
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree or diploma in engineering, architecture, or sustainability management or another related field
- Strong knowledge of Excel, data management and quality control practices
- Demonstrated passion in green building design and/or corporate environment, social and governance programs
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with colleagues from all different functions of the company (accounting, operations, development, human resources, etc.)
