**Position Details**:Full-time, Permanent, Vacant Position
**Salary Range**:$36,200 - $45,300, based on a 35-hour work week. Salary for this position will be commensurate with each individual's education and/or experience as it relates to the position.
**Location**:Hybrid in Stonewall, MB
**Closing Deadline**: February 9, 2025 (11:59PM EDT)
**What You Will Do**
The Accounting Clerk 1 is responsible for providing a variety of support tasks to the Corporate Accounting Department. The incumbent is a gatekeeper of financial objects entered into the accounting system. The incumbent is responsible for setting up all vendors and the maintenance of all vendor data, recording daily bank transactions, preparing monthly journal entries, and monthly account reconciliations.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Setup and maintenance of all vendors in Dynamics
- Record daily bank transaction records
- Prepares corporate journal entries (includes accruals, daily bank journals, etc) accurately and with appropriate supporting documentation
- Support corporate credit card transaction processing
- Process cash receipts and accounts receivable
- Process accounts payable
- Provide backup support to Corporate Accounting Clerks
- Prepare monthly and quarterly account reconciliations, including ensuring all correcting entries are posted
- Support quarter end and year end reporting tasks to ensure deadlines are met
- Support the preparation of year end working papers and lead sheets to support the yearend financial reporting audit, specifically related to cash and cash equivalents
**Requirements**:
- Diploma in Accounting and at least 1 year of relevant experience (basic accounting and/or bookkeeping).
- Must have experience with data entry, journal entries, and MS Office programs.
- Basic understanding of accounting concepts
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to validate/error check one’s own work
- Ability to work in a paperless, multi system environment.
- Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills required to ensure inquiries from staff and vendors are responded to in a timely manner.
- Ongoing management and prioritization in stressful, time sensitive situations - managing one-off payment exceptions and dealing with uncomfortable situations
