**Social Worker - Child, Adolescent and Family Counselling**

**About The Agency**

Jewish Family and Child Service is a multi-service, client-centered, family service agency and a Children’s Aid Society. We support the healthy development of individuals, children, families, and communities through prevention, protection, counselling, and education and advocacy services, within the context of Jewish values.

**About the Role**

We are seeking a **Social Worker - Child, Adolescent and Family Counselling **to provide direct counselling, case management, provision of financial assistance, and other services to children, adolescents, individuals and families using appropriate techniques and methods of social work practice.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide individual counselling and/or family support to client(s) using a range of appropriate methodologies, practices and techniques to meet client(s) needs.
- Formulate and develop client-centered service plans including crisis interventions, internal agency responses and referrals, linkages and referrals to external resources, follow-ups, etc.
- Develop positive relationships with school staff, students and their families and contribute significantly to building a learning team
- Develop and maintain ongoing referral relationships within the human services sector, while also delivering workshops to students and administrative staff as needed.
- Facilitate coordination of services, which includes the provision of information, advocacy, and referral to both internal Agency and external resources.
- Liaise with school designates, with families and with other professionals to provide consultation and support services
- Organize client related documents, records and data collection for internal and external reporting purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Masters of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent related degree
- Registered member of OCSWSSW in good standing
- Minimum 3 years related clinical experience
- Knowledge and/or expertise in specific clinical therapeutic interventions, such as Motivational Interviewing, Brief Therapy, CBT, and/or group psychotherapy
- Knowledge of Matrix and other data management systems is a strong asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills, tact and diplomacy and the ability to work as a team player within a diverse work environment
- Strong clinical and assessment skills
- Ability to establish rapport, credibility and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Comprehension of French or another language will be considered an asset
