Dedicated to creating experiences our guests and team members are amazed by, the Trading Post Retail Store is looking for an energetic and engaged team member. With a sizable retail store, café, and West Coast inspired full-service restaurant all in one location, there is never a dull day at this beautiful tourist destination. As a **Trading Post Retail Team Member**, you are primarily responsible for providing amazing, attentive service to all our Guests. Team Members are expected to have accurate cash handling skills and to maintain store cleanliness and merchandising. They will also need to stay informed of all product details and all store policies and procedures.

**Other Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Greet guests and contribute to a positive experience; welcome & smile,
- Provide courteous and attentive service, ensuring transactions are completed in an accurate manner
- Notify management/supervisors when change or overflow is needed
- Maintain stock levels and inform management/supervisors of product needed
- Check and initial on a daily basis, the staff communication book and retail board
- Maintain a positive, team oriented work environment
- Follow all procedures outlined in the Team Member Handbook
- Be knowledgeable and promote the Capilano Group of Companies
- Take reasonable care to protect your own, co-workers and Guest’s health and safety
- Be alert to hazards and immediately report any concerns of yours or our guests to your supervisor
- Ensure your ability to work without risk to your health and safety or any other person’s safety is not impaired by alcohol, drugs or other causes

**Qualifications**:

- One (1) year of Guest Service or Retail experience
- Accurately use the POS system and to follow loss prevention techniques
- Proven ability to exceed sales targets
- Positive attitude and a strong desire to provide experiences that Guests are amazed by
- Strong communication skills, multilingual is considered an asset
- Must have excellent people skills with a positive & upbeat attitude
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 20lbs, climb a step ladder or climb a step stool
- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business
- Compensation for this position is $18.50 per hour._
