**Pay Band: $76,054 - $95,068 per annum.**
**Work Mode**:Hybrid (80% field work)
**Location**:3515 Wolfedale Road, Mississauga
**Hours of Work**:35 hours/week (Rotating 24 hour on-call schedule)

**The role**:
Under the supervision of the Pollution Control Supervisor, you will oversee the implementation and enforcement of the Wastewater Bylaw. Your duties will include conducting inspections of industrial facilities across Peel Region to verify compliance with the bylaw, ensuring environmental compliance, and safeguarding wastewater treatment facilities.
Your role is crucial in maintaining the safety and security of Peel's residents, industries, and the natural environment. Additionally, review lab analyses of industrial discharges and determine appropriate enforcement actions.
**In this role you will**:
- Review industrial sewer charge appeals, sanitary discharge approvals and administer the surcharge and compliance agreements.
- Provide technical advice regarding regulations and legislation. You will lead meetings with external partners, agencies and staff.
- Conduct abatement meetings with noncompliant industries.
- Prepare daily, monthly, annual and disclosure reports and act as an expert witness as required.
- Mandatory participation as Duty Spills Coordinator on a rotating basis and assist in the annual update of the Public Works Emergency Plan.
- As a Provincial Offences Officer, conduct investigations for the prosecution of offenders of the sewer use by-law in consultation with the Supervisor, Pollution Control and Regional Legal Counsel.
**What the role requires**:
- University Degree in science or related field, or Chemical Technology Diploma with a Certified Engineering Technologist designation.
- Three (3) years related experience. A combination of relevant education and work experience will also be considered.
- Strong public relations, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Strong report writing skills with a keen eye for attention to details.
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency with MS Office.
- Valid Class “G” license in good standing.
- Bylaw enforcement experience would be an asset.

**Work Mode & Job Location**:In this role you will have the ability to work remotely and attend on-site when required based on operational requirements at the 3515 Wolfedale Road worksite. The frequency of on-site activities may vary on a weekly basis and based on operational requirements. Your remote work location must be located within the province of Ontario.
**Hours of Work**:35 hours per week (Rotating 24 hour on-call schedule)
