Reporting to the General Manager Dufferin Concrete/ORM and Dufferin Aggregates the Manager, Technical Services, has direct responsibility for Technical Services across Dufferin Concrete, Ontario Redi Mix and Dufferin Aggregates. The incumbent also implements policies, procedures and systems for the Technical Services Department and monitors the quality of raw materials, for the group. Responsibilities also include the implementation and development of new products across the group, and the handling of major quality issues. Reporting product quality and test results to the management teams and operations groups on regular bases. Ensuring that highest standards for product offerings are met in our business as well as educating the product knowledge to customers and the industry with your team.
- Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the CRH OH&S Program.
- Promote and support company programs, polices and practices.
- Responsible for concrete quality and mix designs.
- Monitor the quality of raw materials and make appropriate recommendations based on findings.
- Assists in selecting and making recommendations on appropriate tools for the Quality Control function.
- Responsible for implementing systems to effectively manage Quality Control.
- Working with sales to create appropriate customer focused mix designs.
- Assists in creating policies and procedures to improve efficiencies within Quality Control.
- Manage and support product development.
- Responsible for growth projects.
- Turntable for compliance issues (legal, environmental, etc.).
- Perform other activities related to the function, or department as assigned.
- Participate and be a member of critical associations related to Quality Control.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelors degree in Civil, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering with P.Eng accreditation.
- 5+ years of experience within concrete, aggregate or construction type industry.
- 5+ years of experience within a leadership type role with demonstrated ability to communicate, mentor and develop people.
- Ability to foster a customer-focused environment continuously delivering exceptional customer service while anticipating future needs.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a rapidly changing environment.
