**Duties and Responsibilities**:
**Key Responsibilities**:

- Complete required environmental assessments, which may include species specific surveys, nest sweeps, bird surveys, vegetation surveys, aquatic assessments, and wetland identification (Stewart & Kantrud, and Canadian Wetland Classification Systems)
- Ensure all field work has been documented and uploaded to site specific files, ensure all required documentation and data has been reviewed and is correct
- Complete project screenings to identify environmental sensitivities and permitting requirements
- Support coordination of multi-disciplinary technical resources throughout all stages of a project’s lifecycle including but not limited to field program implementation, reporting and contributions to assessments and regulatory / permitting documentation
- Support preparation of proposals, including development of scopes and cost estimates
- Complete environmental monitoring for work in environmentally sensitive areas and on Crown Land
- Assist with general project coordination and project cost tracking
- Actively participate in the Corporate Health & Safety Program
- Travel for fieldwork to complete assessments
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- B. Sc. or M. Sc. in an Environmental Science discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field of study (diploma program, etc.)
- 3+ years of field biologist experience, with preference given to consulting experience providing regulatory support for impact assessments and environmental permitting
- The ability to multi-task, work within a team and independently, and adapt to changes in a dynamic environment
- Must be able to demonstrate experience with one of the following biological skill sets: wildlife, aquatic, and/or vegetation identification
- Must be able to travel to complete required field work
- Proven ability to demonstrate initiative, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Excellent writing and communication skills with a dedicated attention to technical quality
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a demanding work environment
- Demonstrated field experience conducting breeding bird surveys using the Saskatchewan Grassland and Forest Bird and/or Alberta Sensitive Species Inventory Guidelines Survey Protocols will be given preference
- Demonstrated field experience conducting rare plant surveys using the Saskatchewan Rare Vascular Plan surveys and/or the Guidelines for Rare Vascular Plant Surveys in Alberta Protocols will be given preference
- Construction based environmental monitoring experience, and familiarity with typical construction methods and mitigation measures is considered an asset
- Field management skills are considered an asset
- P. Biol, P(Ag), or RT(Ag), or equivalent sign-off capabilities are considered an asset
- A valid Class 5 driver’s licence, with a satisfactory driver’s abstract, as determined by the company
- Valid Standard First Aid CPR‐C certification at time of position start
- Valid H2S Alive certification at time of position start
- Ground Disturbance Level II and TDG certifications are considered an asset
