Together we are more than 5,000 dedicated faculty, librarians and staff supporting the University of Victoria’s diverse academic programs, world-class research and commitment to civic engagement. **_*This position is eligible for a Modified Work Schedule*_** - Job Summary Directly reporting to the Head, Acquisitions and Electronic Resources, the Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Supervisor coordinates the overall operational functions of the unit and supervises unit staff. This includes overseeing ordering and receiving of materials and processing of associated invoices, monitoring fund allocations and expenditures, coordinating renewals, overseeing routine electronic resource management, and supporting advanced troubleshooting of electronic resource issues. The supervisor works collaboratively with the Head, Acquisitions and Electronic Resources to develop workflows, document them, and operationalize them within the unit. The supervisor provides leadership in managing acquisitions and electronic resources data within the Library Management System and other vendor systems and platforms. They offer training on relevant topics and systems. The Acquisitions and Electronic Resources Supervisor collaborates with members of the Unit and others in the library and institution. - Job Requirements **Experience**: This position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to 5 years’ experience working within a comparable environment. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities**: - Commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive and respectful working and learning environment. - Experience supervising others or leading teams. - Ability to prioritize and manage time and tasks with attention to detail. - Ability to problem solve by using judgement, independent thinking and/or analysis. - Ability to interpret, administer, and document policies and procedures. - Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and tailor communication style for different audiences. - Ability to investigate and troubleshoot technical and workflow-related issues and implement process improvements. - Experience in maintaining confidential and sensitive information. - Experience carrying out standard financial practices and budget reconciliation processes, preferably in managing a substantial budget, is an asset. - Proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel. - Experience with library resource procurement is considered an asset. - Experience with Library Management Systems is considered an asset. **Specialized Knowledge/Education**: Secondary school diploma or equivalent.
