**JOB SUMMARY**

Under the general guidance of the Director of Sales & Marketing and within the limits of establishing Novotel Toronto North York policies, procedures and SOP manual the Sales Manager is responsible for total account management and optimization of the annual sales and marketing plan and to achieve/exceed budget and sales targets using strategies as per assigned target segment. The assigned target segment for this role is the corporate sector. To elaborate; corporate meetings, trainings, seminars, ceremonies, any and all functions booked through a corporate client, as well as accompanying or standalone room requests.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**
- Perform Market Research and total account management in order to identify potential sources of business within the market segment(s) assigned, which include group and local business travel.
- Assist colleagues to perform similar or related job when necessary.
- Attends meetings and trainings required by the DOSM or Management.
- Provides feedback to the DOSM & GM on changing market conditions, including trends in the competition as a result, of direct sales solicitation, telephone and direct mail, in his/her market areas/segments. Arranges fam/site inspection trips in the hotel for major clients.
- Submits weekly sales reports, updates weekly opera activities, and weekly sales plan to DOSM.
- Follow up on all sales activities including RFP’s.
- Attends all major functions held in house or as requested to attend at sister hotel.
- Attends social networking events hosted by local business groups or industry related.
- Confirm all bookings, quotes and negotiated rates while adhering to hotel rate structure, credit policies and general hotel and corporate policies and procedures.
- Targets business through overseas and local offices of existing accounts to further maximize business.
- Implements all sales action plans related to his/her market as outlined in the sales & marketing plan and as directed by the DOSM.
- Maintain an up-to-date accurate client tracking system by which a logical thorough call pattern can be established through the current operating system.
- Plans sales events and trips, under the direct approval of the DOSM, to major assigned areas/segments, calling on accounts within their specific markets. Reports to the DOSM on potential markets needing coverage.
- Maintain close contact with the client or group while in house in order to ensure satisfaction and also to enable re-solicitation for future business.
- Establishes and maintains detailed report on major active accounts within his/her assigned areas/segments.
- Promotes and produces sales leads for other Accor and Vrancor Hotels through cross selling.
- Be involved with guest feedback in order to maintain product need and standard of hotel performance.
- Responsible for full market knowledge as it relates to competitors.
- Participate in the development of annual marketing plan.
- Comply with all hotel policies and procedures.
- Participate in Manager on Duty Shifts.
- All duties associated to the Corporate Sales Manager position including but not limited to the above listings.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 3+ years of similar Sales experience in the hotel/hospitality industry with successful track record.
- A diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Marketing or related field is an asset.
- Knowledge of current Sales operating system, Opera, Sales Force - is an asset.
- Strong prospecting skills and proven records of increasing market share.
- Driven by results, and self-motivated but also a team player.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and be able to work independently.
- Must have excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- Travel to surrounding area and assigned territory.
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
