About the Role
At Family Services of Greater Vancouver, we’ve been helping people in crisis since 1928. As a non-profit, we help people develop skills and knowledge, empowering our neighbours to create positive change in their lives. Our team is made up of more than 420 staff, including expert counsellors and support workers who provide compassionate, client-centred care to youth experiencing homelessness, families and children impacted by trauma, victims of domestic violence, and other vulnerable people from an evidence-based, trauma-informed lens. We believe in building a brighter future for all British Columbians and providing a supportive and inclusive workplace for all our staff.
This multi-faceted position works with Family Counsellors to support clients in securing and moving to permanent housing; securing appropriate childcare for their children and linking clients to appropriate community resources. In addition to working closely with families, this job requires that the Resource Worker will continuously update relevant information related to housing and daycare.

What you bring:
**Education, Training, Experience**
- Two-year diploma in youth care or two years of post-secondary education in a related field
- Current First Aid certification is an asset.
- Two years of experience working with high-risk families and/or children
**Knowledge, Skills, Abilities**
- Basic knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and MS Teams
- Competence with technology and internet skills (ability to navigate multiple resources, forms, online systems)
- Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
- Awareness of community services, resources and systems
- Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team
- Ability to multitask, showing initiative and flexibility
- Ability to maintain a schedule that allows for both day and evening work, and a willingness and ability to work with other systems

- **Use of own vehicle required and valid Driver’s License (drive clients when necessary)**:
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems, and make decisions that enhance the organization's effectiveness.
