Newmarket, Canada Bird Mechanical Ltd. Full time

Bird Mechanical Ltd., a well established mechanical contractor with offices in Ontario and Atlantic Canada requires an Asset Assistant for our Warehouse, Tool Crib and Delivery Operations. This position is in an integral part of our Operational Support Services tame and is based out of our Newmarket, Ontario office.

This critical role will support our ongoing essential projects throughout Ontario and the Greater Toronto Area.

**General duties include**:

- Assist the Asset Manager with the management of the Asset Department
- Organizing material and equipment for delivery to various sites.
- Scan out tools and equipment using our tracking system.
- Tracking the movements of tools from job sites.
- Completing shipping lists and packing slips for deliveries.
- Loading the Department Trucks for daily deliveries as well as assisting Truck Drivers with loading and unloading trucks.
- Fix and maintain tools and equipment. Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and fixed in a timely manner.
- Identify tools and equipment that require repair or replacement.
- Ensuring that vehicles (interior and exterior) and other equipment (forklifts, scissor lifts etc.) are cleaned on a weekly basis.
- Deliver items to job sites when drivers are sick or additional help is needed.
- Assist with inventory and consumable purchasing.
- Complete consumable inventory records updating and charge outs using Sage Timberline
- Receiving and storing deliveries from suppliers.
- Keep and maintain files consisting of equipment manuals with regards to operation and maintenance.
- Keep and maintain proper records for truck inspections and daily circle checks. Ensuring 12 months worth of previous inspections are kept on file for all delivery vehicles.
- Ensure the Department is kept neat and organized at all times
- Assist other Departments as required.
- Support the Project Management and Field teams as required to complete our projects in a profitable manner.
- Assist with property and building maintenance as required.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience
- Construction industry knowledge and experience an asset.
- Working knowledge of general tools, machinery and equipment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Forklift and other equipment licensees are an asset
- Knowledge of the GTA for driver scheduling and coordination an asset The is more for the manager and assist manager
- G Class Drivers license

This position is ideal for University/College Graduates with a Mechanical Background looking to enter the construction field.

**Regular hours of work**: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm and Fridays 8:00am-3:00pm
