**About the Position**:
At CBBC Career College, we provide international students with the support they need to thrive academically and personally. Our goal is to create a welcoming environment where students feel at home while studying in Nova Scotia. Reporting to the Director of International Education, the **International Student Services Coordinator** would work closely with the entire team at CBBC Career College to provide administrative and operational support to our international student population. The Student Services Coordinator will assist students with their transition to life in Nova Scotia, and provide the resources and guidance needed to ensure their overall success and well-being from pre-arrival to post-graduation. Key responsibilities are outlined below, with additional tasks as required:
**Administrative & Operational Support**:

- Coordinate the schedule for international student orientation and deliver the online presentation
- Maintain up-to-date records in the database and ensure all students have valid medical insurance and study permits.
- Manage correspondence with international students, answering inquiries, and directing them to appropriate resources.
- Aid in the development and ongoing improvement of resources and guides to assist international students, including up-to-date advising materials and communications to ensure students have accurate information regarding study programs and immigration-related matters.
- Create feedback surveys to gather input from students and improve future offerings.

**Student Support**:

- Offer information and guidance regarding cultural adjustment, housing, health services, and other settlement services such as mobile phone providers/process, the transit system, groceries, etc.
- Regularly check in with enrolled students to see how they are doing, offer encouragement, and offer support to any students facing academic, financial, and personal challenges, including issues related to academic probation, integration struggles, and crises.
- Provide crisis support, connecting students with campus resources, mental health services, and community organizations.
- Connect with partners for homestay or alternative accommodations and arrange a partner to provide to students requesting airport transfer services.
- Facilitate connections between international students and community support services.
- In collaboration with Career Services, assist students with securing part-time employment during their studies, and participating in hiring events (on and off-campus) to help them secure full-time post-graduate employment.
- Support employers with navigating the hiring process for international students and offering information regarding work permit pathways and requirements.
- Act as a liaison between international students and faculty/staff to promote collaboration and mutual understanding.
- Assist in organizing social and cultural events on and off campus to foster a welcoming environment for international students and provide opportunities for interaction between international and domestic students, thereby enhancing global learning opportunities.
- Support initiatives designed to enhance the international student experience and promote intercultural understanding, such as a peer-mentoring program.

**Skill Set**:

- Empathetic and approachable with strong communication skills
- Cultural sensitivity and a genuine interest in supporting diverse student populations.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a team, and to work well independently.
- Proactive problem solver
- Basic knowledge of immigration processes and regulations for international students in Canada is an asset.

**Experience**:

- **1-3 years** of experience in student services, international education, academic advising, customer service, or a related administrative support role.
- Experience working with **international students** or diverse populations is an asset

Pay: $45,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
