This role supports people to become active members of the community discovering and engaging with places of belonging.

**POSITION: Regular Part Time Community Support Worker**

**LOCATION: 1:1 Program Community Based**

**SALARY: $25.95/hour**

**HOURS: 28 hours/week**

**SCHEDULE: Tuesday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm**

**Responsibilities**:

- Support people in one-to-one settings.
- Ensuring that individuals are connected to friends and family.
- Providing individuals with the opportunity to make meaningful choices.
- Encouraging and recognizing individuals' contributions.
- Ensuring that individuals are safe and to promote their health and well-being.
- Assist individuals to gain knowledge and experiences to enhance their independence and/or ability to participate in their community.

**Qualifications**:

- The ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently is essential.
- Experience and specialized training related to autism, medical needs and/or challenging behaviours is an asset.
- Knowledge and ability to use alternative communication systems would be an asset.
- Knowledge of principles of Person-Centered Thinking and Planning preferred
- Working knowledge of computers/mobile apps is necessary.

This position requires union membership and completion of Criminal Record Search as per the Criminal Record Review Act and proof of COVID-19 Vaccinations. BC Class 5 Driver’s License is preferred.
