**Job Description**:
Job Summary:
As an integral part of the Engineering team, the System Design Specialist will work on the requirements, design, development, integration and release to Production of high-performance radar systems. With a strong knowledge of signal processing and algorithms, the position also targets continuing improvements to radar processes and supporting system integration activities.

The Systems Design Specialist is responsible for product performance and development from product concept to transition to production. To be successful in this role, the individual should be comfortable working closely with discipline leads and experts to develop concepts, plan development activities and evaluate concepts, designs and prototypes. The individual will be expected to provide leadership to the design team, execute trade studies and evaluate designs against customer and internal requirements. The individual will generate content in support of program milestones and brief stakeholders on issues. This is a hands-on leadership role in an R&D environment. Individuals who are strong technically with a proven track record of success in product development will thrive in this role.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

- Define radar systems requirements and specifications
- Design, develop and specify radar systems architecture to meet requirements, including RF subsystems and signal processing chains.
- Develop algorithms for radar processing (direction-of-arrival, calibration, beamforming, etc.)
- Perform system modeling and simulations to evaluate performance
- Lead system integration, verification, and validation.
- Prepare control documents, configurations, test plans, reports and installation drawings
- Develop and present technical papers to support development and business development
- Work with production to assist in problem resolutions
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper implementation of design.
- Support system and cross-functional projects as needed.

Job Qualifications:

- Advanced degree in Engineering and/or closely related disciplines
- Experience in RF systems
- Advanced understanding of digital signal processing techniques
- 10+ years engineering experience, involving complex hardware and software components.
- Proficient with Matlab and/or Python
- Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills

Eligible to be certified to examine, possess, and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada
