**Job Overview**

**Responsibilities**

**Facility Operations**
- Responsible for overall co-ordination of the day-to-day facility operations, staff and contractors.
- Follow guidelines from public health and government agencies when required.
- Provide directions to facility operations staff on duties required to support rentals and CDRC programs.
- Annually develop, modify and update the Fire Safety Plan. The CDRC Facility Maintenance Manager is the main contact for the fire alarm system.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and ensure the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act are followed.
- Responsible for inspection and monitoring of building, grounds and equipment. Develop daily inspection checklists.
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and provide solutions for the next steps.
- Operation of equipment to complete various maintenance tasks including use of scissor lifts, ice resurfacer, floor scrubbers, hand tools, power tools etc.
- Conduct pool maintenance including vacuuming of pool, backwash and preventative maintenance. Responsible for the operation and maintenance of Class “A” swimming pool according to the Health Protection and Promotion Act Regulation 565. Daily duties include water testing, administering chemicals and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with provincial and federal legislation such as the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Respond to concerns with regards to staff, patrons, rental contract holder and contractors.

**Administrative Duties**
- Compile and update maintenance and operation budget annually.
- Develop a minimum 5-year annual capital budget with future strategic plans incorporated.
- Purse grant and funding opportunities related to Facility Operations.
- Procurement of new equipment, services and repairs.
- Develop, negotiate, monitor and evaluate contracts with service providers and vendors.
- Order daily supplies, services and equipment as needed.
- Responsible for developing and organizing seasonal task lists for start up and shut down of the pool and ice surface
- Responsible for developing and organizing regular concession booth maintenance task list
- Provide monthly updates to the CDRC Board of Management.

**Staff Management/Communication**
- Responsible for recruitment and hiring of maintenance staff. Lead new hires through facility orientation. Provide leadership and supervision to operations staff and support staff in other departments as required.
- Create and adjust maintenance operation staff schedules, managing time off requests, and complete performance evaluations.
- Provide training to the CDRC Pool Staff on pool testing and pool fouling procedures.

▪ Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications/Education**
- Secondary School Diploma or equivalent completion of a Skilled Trades is considered an asset.
- Supervisory experience leading and providing direction to fellow staff members.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in facility operation environment.
- Valid G Driver’s License.
- Basic Refrigeration and Class ‘A’ Pool Operators Certification.
- Working at Heights, WHIMIS, Fall Protection and Confined Space Training.
- Joint Health & Safety Committee certified
- Standard First Aid CPR-C/AED (Current or willing to obtain)

**Experience**
- Supervisory experience leading and providing direction to fellow staff members.
- Mechanical skills include the ability to operate, trouble shoot and basic maintenance on all facility equipment.
- Ability to communicate with members of the public and fellow employees with tact and diplomacy.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
- Experience with accounting software and staff scheduling platforms considered an asset.

**Requirements**:
Pay: $32.13-$40.14 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
