HIEC is seeking a highly-motivated and creative _**marketing assistant**_ to join our growing team If you are passionate about communications, marketing, events, and making a difference in your community, we would love to hear from you We are looking for an individual who is highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized. This position will be responsible for supporting the Communications Manager and the Marketing and Events team with deliverables around our projects. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: - Collaborate with the Marketing and Events team to manage ongoing and new marketing initiatives - Collaborate, arrange, and assist with contributions for web, social media, and blog content - Assist in the organizing of trade shows, conferences, and events - Create or update presentation files or supporting marketing/communication materials - Assist in the organizing, distribution, and ordering of marketing collateral and promotion items/SWAG - Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office by helping sort, organize, and compile marketing swag and materials - Assist with special projects and assignments - Compile feedback from event participants - Update existing graphics using previously created templates - Create graphics for social media and HIEC website - Act as an organizational representative as needed - Assist with proofing and deploying e-blast communications Qualifications to succeed: - University degree, college diploma, or post-secondary education in the field of marketing, communications, or public relations - Good understanding of marketing principles, market research techniques, and management - Experience using HubSpot or a similar CRM is preferred but not required - Experience with Canva is an asset - Knowledge of non-for-profit industry is an asset - Knowledge of, or a passion for the skilled trades is an asset - Energetic, enthusiastic, and positive attitude - A team player able to work collaboratively with colleagues, but also work independently - Knowledge of or an interest in learning more about the skilled trades - Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and complete tasks and assignments with minimum supervision and within a defined time frame - Excellent oral and written communication skills - Strong attention to detail Working Conditions - Typical working hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday, with some requirement to work additional hours, occasionally during evenings and weekends. - Currently, the majority of work is done remotely, however, there may be some expectations to come to the office - Required to travel within Ontario for presentations, partnership meetings, conferences, etc - access to a vehicle is a requirement - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs - As a condition of employment, HIEC requires individuals to be "fully vaccinated" (as defined by the Government of Ontario), against COVID-19 prior to commencing employment.
