**BFL CANADA is looking for an Associate - Benefits Consulting Services for its Toronto office**

As a member of our Toronto office, you will be responsible to provide a full range of consulting services to clients of all sizes and from all industries. These services include but are not limited to providing:

- Solutions encompassing creative plan design, vendor evaluation and management.
- Validation of insurance carriers waiver of premium and disabled life reserves.
- Actuarial valuation of employee benefits related liabilities.
- Compliance and governance strategies.
- Due diligence of employee benefits plans.
- International Pooling for global clients;
- Expatriate agreements for global clients with Canadian operations.
- Other employee benefits related support such as Total Reward Statement, Communication Strategy, etc.

**Your day as an Associate - Benefits Consultant**

This position provides management of the financial analysis for more complex and/or larger clients, including but not limited to:

- Analyze annual renewal for large and complex clients, conduct renewal negotiation with insurers, and prepare renewal reports.
- Prepare benefits program marketing specifications, analyze and comparing proposals from various insurers, prepare report summarizing results, and negotiate with selected insurers, if required
- Conduct various types of financial analysis such as financial experience update, renewal projection, financial reconciliation, etc.
- Review various insurance contracts and booklets to ensure accuracy.
- Review work prepared by junior associates.
- Support various consulting projects when needed.
- Build strong understanding of employee benefits program.
- Establish relationship with colleagues, external partners and with client teams to prepare Senior Associateship.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve existing processes, tools and service offerings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Actuarial Science, Accounting or related field.
- 3 to 4 years of benefits consulting or actuarial consulting experience.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills; strong command of Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a demanding work environment.
- Strong critical thinking and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate and deliver project objectives; ability to work independently as well as on team.
