In this role, you would develop and execute local community events and sponsorships in collaboration with various stakeholders, ensuring their effective planning, promoting, supporting and reporting. This is a fixed-term opportunity (18 months contract) and requires travel and flexibility with work hours, including weekends and evenings.
**What you’ll do**:
The role involves Event and Sponsorship Planning, Event and Sponsorship Management, Communications and Employee Engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and implementing an integrated social media plan
- Recommending local area, event and sponsorship marketing and business development opportunities to meet business objectives.
- Supporting branches in planning and implementing branch-initiated community events and programs.
- Establishing success metrics and measurement tools for local events and sponsorship activities.
- Liaising with event and sponsorship vendors, including negotiating terms and conditions and finalizing contracts.
- Leading cross-functional teams to effectively activate events and sponsorships, including on-site supervision of events and sponsorships, and coordination of event services and suppliers.
- Managing the production of event materials and sales/activation tools.
- Coordinating lead generation activities from events and sponsorships.
- Assessing and communicating the overall impact of local area, event and sponsorship marketing activities and identifies opportunities for improvements.
- Supporting the quote process with suppliers and ensures production and/or service meets approved standards and timelines.
- Sourcing, purchasing and coordinating promotional merchandise orders and inventory as needed.
- Overseeing the budget and invoicing for local events and sponsorships.
- Working closely with procurement to ensure agreements are updated and signed-off with sponsors and other vendors.
- Providing full debrief after events and sponsorship activities.
- Communicating local area, event and sponsorship marketing plans and activities; integrates content into media and promotional plans.
- Supporting communication with non-charitable sponsorships and partnerships including negotiations as required.
- Ensuring employee volunteerism is tracked and recorded
- Working with Digital Marketing Manager and Creative team to build and develop communication plans with timelines to promote upcoming events and sponsorships.
- Other duties as assigned.
**What you’ll need**:
- Diploma in marketing, communications, or related discipline; one-year related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of marketing communications processes.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to plan, schedule, organize and prioritize work and meet deadlines during periods of high volume.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in department and within the Corporate Office.
- Ability to use initiative and work independently.
- Physically able to set up tents, load equipment and boxes of supplies into van, etc.
- Class 5 driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract required.
- Food safe certificate - preferred.
- First aid certificate - preferred.
- Event Planning experience preferred.
