DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Medical Office Administration Diploma and previous relevant experience in a hospital clerical or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Previous experience in transcribing doctor's orders;
- Proven knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (tested - basic level);
- Proven experience/knowledge re: staffing according to both CUPE and ONA Collective Agreements;
- Proven experience in computerized Payroll;
- Proven organizational, prioritization and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously;
- Knowledge of Meditech's admission and order entry modules;
- Good keyboarding skills 35 w.p.m.. (tested);
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work productively despite distractions and interruptions;
- Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;
- Must have a satisfactory performance record;
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area; and,
- Proven good attendance record with capability of maintaining this same standard;

The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
