**Summary**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Assistant Category Manager of Deli Merchandising. In this role, you will work closely with the Category Managers to develop and execute strategies that optimize the Deli, Cheese & HMR Categories. Your main objective will be to ensure the deli department meets sales goals, maximizes profitability, and delivers an exceptional customer experience. **Specific Responsibilities**
- Assist the Category Managers in developing and implementing category plans and strategies for the Department.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, marketing, to ensure effective execution of merchandising strategies.
- Managing the category product assortment, including vendor selection, product sourcing, discontinuations. and pricing strategies. Listing of new items including set up and other administrative tasks.
- Conducting regular store visits to evaluate merchandising execution, gather feedback from store associates, and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work to maintain category lists & planogram sets. Maintain core & optional lists.
- Weekly management and distributon of produciton planning reports to store operations.
- Manage costing & retail changes in conjuction with National Procurement and the Cateogry Managers. Provide impact analysis
- Coordinating with the marketing team to develop promotional campaigns, flyers, instore features and initiatives to drive customer engagement and increase sales. Responsible for flyer proofing, forecasting, promotional materials & store level communications.
- Gather and distrbute flyer proofs to the Fresh Merchandising teams as per the proofing cycle.
- Assist in maintaining promotional calendar to schedule promotions, maximize sales and profits in the assigned categories.
- Responsible for securing, validating and entering vendor deal sheets and promotional funding.
- Assist in management of Menu for Skip the Dishes, Starbucks & Catering Applications.
- Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for growth.
- Monitoring and analyzing sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans.
- Support complete scheduled category reviews in assigned categories.
- Conduct analyses of retail history, advertising success, product movement and overall category management.
- Implement pricing strategies for categories and make recommendations in setting retail prices for individual items, in accordance with corporate guidelines for pricing.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor degree.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant experience.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel is an asset.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Some travel required.
