**The Opportunity**:
The Marketing & Customer Service Specialist supports Recreation in ensuring service delivery expectations are met and customers have a safe and enjoyable experience. The position assists in the development and implementation of marketing strategies for Recreation. The Marketing & Customer Service Specialist is responsible for the leadership of front reception staff as well as the work unit’s internal and external relationships.
- University undergraduate degree preferred with concentration in marketing, communications, recreation, leisure, tourism or business plus two years relevant experience preferably within a large organization that has a significant leisure component.

OR
- College diploma in marketing, communications, recreation, physical education, leisure, tourism or business plus four years relevant experience preferably within a large organization that has a significant leisure component.
- Canadian Public Relations Society (CPRS) and/or International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) accreditation is considered an asset.
- Two years of experience developing and supervising of staff.
- Personify The City’s Values and RISE Principles (Respect, Integrity, Service and Excellence).
- Proficiency in marketing and promotion principles (including social marketing) and a demonstrated ability to develop and propose solutions based on those principles.
- Experience in developing and delivering standards for excellent customer service.
- Ability to adapt feedback into positive constructive actions.
- Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other design software (recreation, marketing and financial)
- Demonstrated high level of verbal, written communication and listening skills
- Ability to prioritize varied workload and adapt quickly to change.
- Must be able to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift 25 pounds regularly.
- Current Intermediate First Aid certification.
- Ability to work all hours of facility operation is essential

**Remuneration**:
$46.58 to $49.03 per hour.

**Hours of Work**:
80 hours biweekly, Monday to Friday. Some evening and weekend work may be required.
