**Shift**:6:00pm-6:00am

As a _**Yard Worker**_ you are accountable for ensuring that the Yard employees and drivers are working in a safe and efficient manner. You are responsible to ensure smooth operations, efficiencies, people management equipment management, freight flow, yard management, change implementation, and safety, aligned to operational expectations and guidelines.

**How You’ll Help**
- Responsible for the safety of the staff and drivers in and around the yard and the safe efficient operation the yard.
- Manage the yard and office building; Ensure the property is safe, secure, clean, well maintained and operating efficiently. Any simple issues should be corrected right away all major deficiencies must be reported directly to Operations Manager for correction.
- Responsible to manage all on site equipment. Ensure all trailers and converters are parked in safe and organized way. Equipment is correctly updated in AS400. Out of Service equipment is tagged and reported.
- Ensure all security policies are followed.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, brokers, terminal staff, dispatch staff regarding equipment and load arrivals, departures and requirements.
- Process driver paperwork and full load paperwork for outbound loads.
- Log all truck and trailer arrivals and departures.
- Other general duties as required.

**Your Skills & Experience**:

- Minimum of secondary education, with preference of post-secondary education (general stream), or a combination of education and experience.
- Preferably 1-2 years previous transportation or operational experience is preferred, various roles within transportation would be beneficial.
- Background in trailer parts considered an asset.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Communication skills - advanced
- Computer skills - accuracy, MS products, AS400, web-based programs
