Timber Room Server

**JOB SUMMARY**:
The Server is responsible for creating a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere in the Timber Room Pub. The Server must always provide friendly and professional service in support of meeting and exceeding our Guests’ expectations from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. The Server must work with all the staff in the Timber Room and the Kitchen Team to exceed guest expectations. They report directly to the Restaurant Manager or Supervisor on shift.

**Responsibilities**:

- Treats each guest with respect in delivering top-notch professional service to always ensure a Five-Star experience
- Responsible for taking accurate orders from guest and ensuring a quality meal is professionally presented.
- Responsible for following up with the guests throughout their dining experience.
- Should be prepared to suggest both food and beverage recommendations
- Responsible to upsell menu add-ons, drinks and desserts
- Is familiar with current menus from preparation to presentation and is able to provide accurate information to guests including all ingredients.
- Ensure that proper cash handling standards are met
- Will communicate calmly to all kitchen staff to relay guest special requests
- Adheres to all Departmental guidelines and standards as set out by the Food and Beverage Management Team
- Adheres to safety standards and is familiar with Company Policies & Procedures
- Must always maintain a professional and welcoming appearance
- Is responsible for being prepared to start shift on time each day
- Is able and willing to perform any other duties as may be required from time to time

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must have valid Food Safe Certification
- Must have valid Serving It Right certification

LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret company policy and procedures, and government regulations.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from guests, and the general public.
- Ability to deal with challenging guest situations in an effective and positive manner
- Ability to listen to guest’s concerns and find a positive solution

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, fractions, ratios and proportions.

REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
