**What does your day at GIP look like?**

**Reporting to the Plant supervisor, the Plant operator will help with daily activities in regard to maintaining the Emulsion plant.**
- Maintenance of the machinery
- assistance with production of asphalt emulsion, cutback and related products including operating asphalt emulsion mills and preparing intermediate raw materials
- Loading and unloading tankers and other deliveries of raw material and products.
- Quality control testing.
- Filling and packaging totes, drums, and pails
- Operating forklift and skid steer
- Inventory measurement, preparing shipping and receiving documents, completing health, safety, and environmental inspections.
- Plant repairs
- To manufacture asphalt emulsion, cutback, and related products at the GIP Materials
- Engineering Clarkson Plant.
- To meet and adhere to quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
- To assist with the repair, maintenance, and installation of plant equipment.

**Enough about us, let’s talk about you.**
- High school diploma required. Additional college or other post-secondary technical training desirable.
- Experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is required, with preference given to experience in a petrochemical or chemical sector.
- Strong basic mathematical skills including competency in volumetric, height, density, and temperature calculations related to bulk liquids in tanks. An ability to learn and understand basic industrial chemistry and comfort in calculations related to quantities of raw materials and products related emulsion manufacturing.
- Good aptitude with respect to using and maintaining mechanical and industrial equipment.
- Basic spreadsheet skills combined with the ability to learn computerized front end ticketing and ERP systems.
- Good verbal and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.
- An ability to organize and prioritize activities in order to meet operating objectives is required.
- An understanding of liquid processing systems and technical knowledge of emulsions and polymer modification systems would be desirable.

- Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Mississauga, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Emulsion Plant operating: 2 years (preferred)
- SCADA: 1 year (preferred)
- technical inspection: 2 years (preferred)
