The Bid Desk Specialist position is the cornerstone of the Tech Data Canada large deal process. The mandate of this position is to ensure we maximize our win rate on profitable large deals with the appropriate level of procedural and process controls. The Bid Desk Specialist is responsible for processing, responding, communicating, and pricing customer bids and large opportunities. The incumbent is expected to work closely with all levels of Sales, Product Marketing, Finance and other appropriate departments to coordinate Tech Data's response to large opportunities. The large-deal process requires the Bid Desk Specialist to collect and analyze market intelligence based on bid wins and losses. They are expected to interface with inside sales and field sales regularly to manage bid status and drive subsequent actions in a timely manner. Regular tracking and reporting of bids including communication with senior management is essential. Strong leadership skills are required to navigate the conflicting demands of various stakeholders within the process. As well, the incumbent will interact frequently on a daily basis with Senior Sales Management to assess deal viability and approvals.

**Duties And Responsibilities**
- Analyze profitability and determine pricing for large bid opportunities 50%
- Prepare analysis, utilize tools and report to management on bid performance 20%
- Maintain and drive appropriate Sales and PM actions 20%
- Control, manage and approve bid opportunities to maximize profitability 10%

**Educational level**:

- University Degree University

- Finance, Economics, Math or Statistics Finance, Economics, Math or Statistics

**Type of work experience**:

- Sales, finance, product management or relevant operational experience
- Sales, finance and analytical experience using various database architectures

**Years of experience in the industry**:

- 3-4 years

**Other related experiences**:

- Sales experience
- Excellent knowledge of the computer industry and vendor community.
- Familiarity with key vendor programs
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of financial concepts such as cost/benefit, ABC etc.
