- The Friends_ is recruiting an Independent Living Assistant in the Bracebridge/Huntsville area for our Respite program. This program is designed to provide in-home care to relieve caregivers. Supporting our clients with activities of daily living while encouraging/facilitating client ability to gain/maintain independence. The duties of this position would include: bathing, dressing, toileting, medication reminders and meal preparation. **Qualifications**:

- interest/experience supporting seniors and adults with physical disabilities living in their own home with health care needs
- background/training in health related field such as PSW/DSW/SSW
- understanding of and commitment to independent living and client right to direct their own care
- excellent physical strength and stamina
- ability to work with direction and independently
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- sound judgement and discretion in confidential matters
- reliable vehicle

**$3/hour wage enhancement is included in the above rates**

**Travel time and mileage paid between all client visits**

**Job Types**: Permanent, Casual

Pay: $22.00-$24.91 per hour

Expected hours: 12 - 20 per week

**Benefits**:
