Our open-pit mine and concentrator in Voisey’s Bay - Vale’s only fly-in/fly-out operation in Canada - produces nickel-cobalt-copper concentrate and copper concentrate. An underground expansion will see a transition to a leading edge underground mine extending the life of the mine until 2034. Our state-of the-art facility in Long Harbour is the first nickel processing plant in the world to use hydrometallurgy technology to produce Plating Rounds TM from hard rock (sulphide) concentrate, with low carbon footprint compared to traditional smelter technology. A team of employees across the province provide support to the Newfoundland and Labrador Operations.

**Our Team**

The Warehouse is part of the Global Procurement and Inbound Logistics Team. We deliver superior support to the operation by safely and efficiently fulfilling the material requirements of the operation. The team receive, store, kit, ship, count, deliver, and coordinate all requests for the site operation. The warehouse supplies a variety of chemicals, PPE, capital and operational spares to the Operation and Maintenance Teams and are an integral part of the company’s supply chain.

**The Opportunity**

We are currently seeking a **Warehouse Supervisor **to join our **Warehouse Department **in **Long Harbour. **This is a **permanent **position **based **at the Long Harbour Site.**

The Warehouse Supervisor provides leadership to all aspects of warehouse operations and is responsible to manage the day-to-day supervision of the Warehouse Technicians to ensure a safe and efficient work environment. The Warehouse Supervisor also ensures that warehousing processes comply to Vale’s norms and required internal and external auditing criteria.

In this position, you will:

- Lead by example; build and champion a progressive safety culture; implement systems where employees, equipment and processes are protected against hazards; be the role model for safety, health and environment action;
- Provide an efficient material handling and distribution center that focuses on Safety and Productivity for Long Harbour Operations;
- Monitor service levels and handle Key Performance Indicators for the Long Harbour Inbound Logistics Area;
- Ensure care of physical assets including warehouse building, and all equipment;
- Provide hands on leadership and mentoring to the employees of the warehouse;
- Be a continuous improvement leader;
- Coordinate required employee training;
- Conduct an annual physical count of warehousing inventory;
- Monitor/analyze monthly goals and work with Management to plan and implement strategies to accomplish goals.

**About You**

**Education**:

- Post-secondary education in Business Administration/related field of study or equivalent experience.
- Supply Chain Management Professional Designation (S.C.M.P, C.P.M, C.P.P.) is considered an asset.
- Supply Chain Logistic Professional Designation (CITT) is considered an asset.

**Experience**:

- A minimum of 5 years’ logistics experience, coupled with 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role.
- Knowledge and use of SAP.
- Ability to effectively lead and motivate a team.
- Commitment to Health, Safety and Environment.
- Knowledge with warehousing and goods procurement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Creative problem solver and able to respond to various situations with appropriate urgency.
- Knowledge of supply chain and inventory methodologies and general knowledge of mining, milling, smelting and refining processes.

**Skills**:

- Warehouse and Inventory Management modules of SAP and Microsoft word, excel, PowerPoint and Powerbi
- Obsession with Safety, Environment and Risk Management
- Knowledge of warehousing and goods procurement
- Effectively lead and motivate a team
- Supply Chain understanding using inventory methodology model
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
- Demonstrates creative problem solving and able to respond to various situations
