**After School Program Staff (part-time)**
The Boys & Girls Club of East Scarborough provides a wide range of services to children, youth and their caregivers, from all cultural and economic backgrounds. We are currently recruiting for individuals who are energetic, enthusiastic, and have a genuine interest in working positively with children age 6-14 years. The position will require a good understanding of working with children and youth, as well as implementing programs. This is a very active job where staffs are expected to lift and move tables/chairs and program equipment as well as participate in active sports/games with the children.

Children”.
**Responsibilities**:
- Desire to work with children to foster their growth and development
- Need to be on punctual and committed to working assigned shifts
- Model good-sportsmanship through enthusiastic, non-competitive participation and support
- Responsible for the supervision of children in the program and ensuring their safety while in program
- Responsible for meeting children at designated school bus stops and leading them safely to program area
- Responsible for managing behavioral issues and group conflicts between the children
- Organize and lead small group activities and physical activities for the children
- Assist other staff in the preparation and facilitation of programs/activities
- Provide homework assistance for those children who require it
- Ensure that daily snacks are prepared and served to the children
- Develop professional relationship with co-workers, participants, parents & school staff
- Responsible for recording daily program attendance as directed
- Must participate in training sessions, planning sessions, staff meetings on assigned dates
- Document, and report all incidents involving staff, volunteers/placement students or participants immediately to Manager, Satellite Supervisor or Program Developer and Facilitator
- Ensure that program equipment is clean and stored appropriately at the end of each day. Must keep program areas clean and orderly
- Submit Program Supply Orders to Program Developer & Facilitator
- Ensure daily reports completed
- Other duties as they may arise
**Required skills and knowledge**:
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Strong time management skills
- Individuals who are enthusiastic, energetic with creative program planning skills.
- Ability to creatively plan, facilitate and instruct participants in a specialty program.
- Genuine interest in working with children between the ages of 6-14years
- Experience working or volunteering with children and/or youth
- Graduate, enrolled or interest in child and early teen service diplomas or related field (such as Recreation and Leisure, ECE, Social Sciences)
- Proficient in MS Office (i.e. word, excel, power point, outlook, etc.)
- Demonstrate an understanding of leadership skills, programming skills and child/youth management skills.
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
**Other qualifications**:
- First Aid/Level C CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the contract)
- HIGH FIVE PHCD and HIGH FIVE Sport Certification (or willingness to obtain prior to the start of the contract)
- Willingness to obtain a Criminal Records Check upon employment offer
