Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the employee performs general shop floor work. They also assist with handling, plating, storage, clean up and preparation of raw materials and finished products.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Role accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Provide general shop and yard labour as required.
- Clean and maintain the work area and equipment used daily.
- Use overhead cranes and/or forklift to load and offload items from racks daily.
- Expedite Argus Product Inventory Bins to corresponding machines.
- Check and maintain existing and incoming stock levels of raw material and final product.
- Participate in inventory control activities.
- Safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant. Handle materials and equipment with care to ensure raw materials are not damaged while being transported. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
- Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents and drawings.
- Complete documentation for work carried out. Route the material/ product and related documentation to the appropriate location once completed.
- Record time and switch codes on internal computer system (Blue Terminal), scan router operations, enter product quantity and consume materials.
- Use measuring tools as required.
- Appropriate handling of hazardous chemicals as required by WHIMIS standards.
- Other duties as requested by the Supervisor.
**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**:
- High school diploma.
- Machine shop experience is an asset.
- A forklift ticket is an asset.
- Ability to use measuring equipment.
- General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
- General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
**WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:
- Shop floor environment, extended standing and working with products.
- Working wearing personal protective equipment 100% of work time.
- Lifting regularly up to 50 lbs without mechanical assistance.
