Reporting to one of the Managers, the Best Practice Consultant participates in the development and implementation of effective best practices and processes for the Individual Insurance teams. Supporting New business, In-force and Claims, the Consultant ensures consistency and supports the organizational needs. They drive change and deliver outcomes which allow us to achieve performance excellence and continue to grow our business.

**Who are we?**

The Insurance Best Practice team maintains a close working relationship with Operational leaders to execute on changes impacting their teams. Our team consists of 5 diverse PODs aligned to key areas of focus.

**Innovation, Digital & Process Design** - Hub for improvement agenda - Lead and consult on innovations and cross-functional improvement initiatives

**Product & Specialty Marketing** - Develop process and change management plans to support Operations and product management with Product launches

**Manage Risk** - Partner with Operational Risk Management team to identify, assess and mitigate the top risk issues across Insurance Operations. Develop process and change management plans to support regulatory changes.

**Operational Continuous Improvement** - Execute on quick continuous improvements ideas to deliver fast incremental value across Insurance Operations

**Knowledge Management and Tools** - Improve and maintain workflow, forms, tools and knowledge management across Insurance Operations

While the team collaborates regularly, this posting is for a Consultant that will be aligned with the **Manage Risk** POD.

**What will you do?**
- Partnering with compliance to interpret and adapting processes to meet the needs of new regulatory changes
- Deliver changes to the business by operationalizing changes including;
- Impact analysis to determine Operational effort required to support changes
- Providing training support related to new systems, processes, or tools
- Accountable for meeting tight deadlines and working collaboratively with cross functional teams
- Responsible for measuring impacts post implementation
- Ensuring new processes are followed through strong control plans
- Liaison between business and Audit, participating in preparation, walkthrough and testing
- Leading/project managing process updates to close risk gaps by making strong data-based recommendations to leaders and supporting the execution of management action plans
- Participate in records management consultations and annual tasks for Individual Insurance teams
- Support POD leader in executing on business continuity tasks

**What will you need to succeed?**
- Knowledge of Individual Insurance products and the distribution channels that sell and service them
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills
- Ability to contribute to strategies and business plans and execute the plans/strategies
- Passionate about delivering an exceptional 'customer experience' and continuously realizing improvements
- Strong oral and written communication, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects with exceptional time management capabilities
- Hands on knowledge and training on Six Sigma, Lean or other process improvement methodologies
- Excellent collaboration skills including strength as a communicator
- Ability to act independently with some guidance and direction
- Balance of attention to detail with big picture understanding
- Ability to work with some ambiguity and take ownership of tasks

**What would be nice to have?**
- LOMA - ACS for Insurance
- Possess or working toward Project Management Professional (PMP) designation and/or Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certification
- Posses or working towards
- Operational management knowledge
- Experience working with Legal, Compliance, Distribution or Operational Risk teams
