Resident Services Aide

Position Summary

This position will be permanent full-time.
Reporting to the Resident Services Manager as a team member working toward the mission and objectives of the Association. The Resident Services Aide is the front-line contact for residents and residents’ families. Act as a liaison between family and friends of the seniors. Ensure the independence, dignity and confidentiality of the residents is maintained. To maintain an atmosphere in which residents can enjoy an independent, safe and purposeful community-living in Barrhead & District Social Housing facilities.

**Qualifications**:

- Background and proven ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to manage relationships and resolve issues in an inclusive, transparent and calm manner.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Is pleasant and sincere with the residents and staff members.
- Ability to keep affairs of the Association confidential.
- Hold a current First Aid Certificate
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Barrhead and District Social Housing Association operates licensed supportive living facilities. All mandates implemented by Alberta Health are applicable and employees must adhere to them. **During outbreaks employees are required to wear masks and eye protection.**

**Responsibilities**:
Specific duties and responsibilities of this position shall include but are not limited to the following:
1. Represent Barrhead & District Social Housing Association in a positive manner to all current and prospective residents and to the greater community at large.

2. To provide information to residents in a timely manner.

3. To maintain harmonious, friendly, and fair relationships with residents and their support networks.

4. Conduct tours of BDSHA facilities to prospective residents and families.

6. To assist the Client Services Manager to coordinate the move-in and move-out of residents.

7. To ensure data on residents (current and prospective) is up-to-date, accurate and complete.

8. Maintain waiting lists.

9. Prepare resident files.

10. Ensure resident lists are updated when changes occur.

11. Handle enquires and complaints from residents and/or public and when necessary, escalate such complaints and enquiries to the Resident Services Manager.

12. To assist the Resident Services Manager in the improvement of the communication and understanding between resident’s responsible persons and the Home Care personnel to ensure that the resident’s interests are best served.

13. To assist when required and at the direction of the Resident Services Manager, with Activities Department functions including teas, bazaars, birthday parties, special events and lunches.

14. Provide reception by answering the telephone, assisting visitors and contractors, taking deliveries etc., as required.

15. Attend relevant training offered by BDSHA.

16. Perform all other duties as assigned.

**Salary**: $19.75-$22.44 per hour
