- As a Construction Estimator, you will provide cost estimating for Water and Wastewater Construction Projects, provide service connection rehabilitation estimates to external contractors and information regarding new and existing services to City of Calgary customers. Primary duties include:

Act as a point of contact for customers via 311 and build relationships with operators, foreman, and supervisors regarding repairs and installation of services.
Assess, develop options, and offer advice on building grades and minimizing both tangible and intangible costs for repair of existing water, wastewater, and storm infrastructure.
Collaborate with supervisors to plan, prioritize, and schedule construction/repair work.
Provide rotational weekend coverage to support emergencies.
- **Note**:This position provides rotational coverage on weekends for emergency support, typically 1 weekend in 3 weeks.
- **Qualifications**
***A completed 2 year technical diploma in a related field plus at least 5 years of related experience in construction procedures and practices including the interpretation of block-profiles and blueprints.
An understanding of plumbing codes and knowledge of surveying, mapping and drafting is required.
Success in this position requires excellent communication skills to be able to interpret technical and specialized data in order to interact and convey information to customers and other individuals without a technical background.
