**Job Description **Digital & Information Services Librarian

The Port Moody Public Library is seeking a resourceful and innovative Digital & Information Services Librarian. Reporting to the Digital & Information Services Coordinator, you will be part of a team that plans and delivers information services to the customers of the Port Moody Public Library.

This includes: providing reference and readers’ advisory services; planning, coordinating and delivering programs; and assuming collection development responsibilities for designated area(s) of the collection. This position has a particular focus on digital services and resources, including: developing website content; maintaining social media accounts; promoting digital literacy; selecting and maintaining digital collections; and planning, implementing and evaluating services related to new technologies.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide reference and readers’ advisory services for all ages, with a focus on digital services and resources.
- Plan, organize and deliver a variety of programs and special events for all ages that are principally technological in nature.
- Collaborate on developing partnerships and planning services.
- Participate in materials selection, maintenance, and marketing of library collections.
- Participate in library marketing activities.
- Undertake special project work.
- Create resources in various formats to foster reading, literacy and lifelong learning.
- Conduct outreach visits to community groups, and represent the library at community events.
- Assist in maintaining the library’s web site and social media accounts.

**Requirements**:

- Master's degree in Library & Information Science (MLIS/MLS) from an accredited program including specialized course work in the areas of instructional design, digital services, and digital resources.
- Two years of recent, relevant experience including experience working and programming in a public library setting.
- Demonstrated readers’ advisory services experience with an in-depth knowledge of adult, teen, and children’s literature.
- Demonstrated experience providing information services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current technology trends, and how technology integrates with library service delivery.
- Demonstrated knowledge of public library collections in all formats. Familiarity with collection development principles with a specialization in digital collections.
- Ability to train individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated experience with Content Management Systems to update and maintain websites.
- Demonstrated experience with social media in corporate environment.
- Ability to plan and present library programs for various age groups.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent customer service skills including the ability to deal with challenging patrons.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and to handle multiple and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and to work collaboratively with others to improve services in a dynamic, collegial team environment.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervision skills.
- Valid BC driver’s license.
