**Job Description**:

Reporting to the Manager Rural Services WC Clayquot, Stratcona Corridor, the Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the overall day-to-day operations and provides clinical support and education for the outpost units in Gold River, Tahsis, Kyuqout and Zeballos, Port Alice, Sointula and Bamfield. Providing leadership to the multi-disciplinary team, this position coordinates and facilitates daily clinical activities, ensuring effective use of resources. Acts as the communication liaison between members of the multi-disciplinary team, as well as other health care professionals and administrative personnel outside the unit/service. Supervises and evaluates staff, provides leadership and functions as a role model and coach to assist staff with professional development and achievement of unit/service goals. Takes a long range view of operations and patient service delivery and follows through on issues that impact on the overall quality of patient care provided. Is instrumental in the development of policies and procedures/standards for operationalizing patient care at unit level. Contributes to the monitoring and development of the outpost operating plan. Provides leadership within the units for quality and risk management activities. Travels between units on a regular basis.

Travel is a requirement of this job. Transportation arrangements must meet the operational requirements of Island Health in accordance with the service assignment and may require the use of a personal vehicle.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education, Training And Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Master's degree in Nursing an asset. Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Five years recent related experience, including two years relevant clinical experience, and two years supervisory experience.

Remote certification with prescribing course. Basic Life Support, Level C certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) or equivalent.

Valid Driver's License.
