**Youth Community Housing Support Worker, Nanaimo BC**
**Position Type**:Part time (30 Hours)

**Wage Rate**: 20.30 per hour

We are looking for team members who are motivated, work well as a team but can also work alone, and can provide the following:

- 19+ years of age
- Valid BC Class 5 Drivers License
- Proof of full Covid-19 Vaccination or exemption
- Ministry of Child and Family Development Screening - Employer will file
- Drivers Abstract
- Food Safe Certificate
- Criminal Records Review Act Schedule A - Employer will file
- Current Ministry of Health Approved First Aid Certificate including CPR
- Physician's Declaration
- TB Screen
- Education and/or experience working with youth at risk, children with developmental disabilities or children with challenging behaviours. (CYC,CSW, ECE- special needs)
- Ability to work independently
- Able to work in stressful environment
- Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills.

The support youth could present with the following; non-verbal, personal care needs, aggressive behaviour, aggressive language, possibility of elopement, attachment disorder, could have had some type of trauma in their lives which manifests as behaviours.

This position is working directly with youth with developmental disabilities. If you have worked with vulnerable youth and/or adults, hold a CYC, CSW, ECE with a special needs certificate, or relevant certificates, diplomas or degrees OR are passionate about supporting youth and wish to make a difference, we would love to talk with you.
