Mitchell Installations Ltd. (Mitchell) is carrying out the Balance of Plant mechanical contract at the BC Hydro Site C project in Fort St. John, British Columbia. The scope of work is mainly piping installation, with smaller scopes including painting, concrete pads, structural steel, and small cranes and monorails.

Mitchell is looking for a QA/QC manager to work in partnership with our QC Manager and provide coverage for each other’s days off. The assignment is to manage all aspects of quality control as per the contract and project requirements. The job is full time for the remaining duration of the project (6-9 months), starting immediately. The rotation is 14x7 and schedule will be adjusted as per the project criticality and milestones. Camp accommodations will be provided including flights to and from Fort St. John.

Note that there is a preference for local residents from the Fort St. John area.

**Responsibilities**:
Develop, implement and maintain, and ensure the effective operation of the Quality Management System

Initiate management reviews, not less frequently than annually, and take other actions necessary to ensure the effective operation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System

Maintain, and ensure the effective operation of the Quality Manual and

Quality Management Plans in the context of the Quality Management System;
Develop, implement and maintain, and ensure the effective operation of Inspection and Test Plans, including approving each ITP prior to submittal to Client

Manage, and if appropriate delegate, Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities as part of the Quality Manual and Quality Management Plans for the Work. Any delegation of these activities will be under the direct supervision of the Quality Manager who retains responsibility and authority

at all times

Lead a Quality team that is independent from the Contractor’s production team that is responsible for the execution and performance of the Work, and ensure that the personnel on such team are properly qualified and trained for their role and have completely familiarized themselves with all documents necessary to do so;
Liaise with Client Representative as the primary representative for the Contractor on all matters with respect to Quality and the Quality Management System;
Coordinate all matters and issues relating to the compliance of the Quality Management System with the ISO 9001 Standard;
Prepare, and submit to client, monthly reports concerning progress on Quality matters and the Quality Management System (“Quality Progress Reports”);
Ensure that relevant Quality Records are completed, retained and made available in accordance with the Quality Management System

Develop and implement a program for Correction and, when applicable, Corrective Action in respect of Nonconformities; and

Carry out any other matters which, in accordance with the terms of the Contract, are stated to be the responsibility of the Contract Manager or which, report directly to, or have delegation from, the Contractor’s Representative for Quality matters with respect to the Work;
**Preferred Qualifications**

A certified QMS Audit Team Leader in accordance with ISO 19011; or

Have experience in a similar quality management representative role for a similar project;
and have successfully completed an ISO 9001 Audit Team Leader course; and

A Professional Engineer with a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience or

An individual with a minimum of twenty (20) years of relevant experience.

**Other Qualifications**

Must have minimum 10-year experience with Oil and gas/ hydroelectric projects/ piping projects/ mechanical projects including equipment installation (pumps, motors, monorails, cranes etc.)

Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma or global equivalent degree

Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors

Attention to detail and work on time sensitive deliverables

Intermediate Computer skills including Excel, Word and Adobe

**Salary**: $100,000.00-$150,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 10 hour shift

Supplemental pay types:

**Education**:

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

**Experience**:

- quality control: 5 years (preferred)

Willingness to travel:

- 75% (preferred)
