Position Summary
Position Functions
**Human Resources Activities**:

- Coordinate the recruitment process for hourly and salaried employees; supporting managers in developing strong job descriptions, posting and reviewing all applicants received
- Collaborating with Health and Safety, facilitate the onboarding process for new employees including testing, orientations and probationary period evaluations
- Track and monitor employee attendance and provide detailed reporting for all sites
- Support and administer disciplinary processes, ensuring fairness, consistency, and compliance with employment standards
- Coordinate and manage employee training initiatives, ensuring completion and alignment with regulatory and organizational requirements
- Maintain and regularly update company handbooks and policies, reflecting the latest legislative and organizational changes
- Assist with administering the Health Benefit Plan and RRSP programs
- Conduct detailed and thorough investigations as required, make recommendations for training/education and/or discipline as required and ensure appropriate communication to all stakeholders
- Organize and facilitate employee events/social activities to enhance employee engagement and morale
- Prepare all employee documentation including offer letters, termination, transfers and promotions

Payroll Administration
- Ensure accurate and timely process of payroll for all hourly and salary employees using Ceridian Dayforce. This currently includes a combination of weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payrolls
- Review union contracts and ensure payroll compliance; update system with new contractual items as required
- Ensure adherence to provincial and federal payroll laws, including tax, EI, and CPP deductions.
- Review timesheets on a weekly basis and address any concerns with supervisors/managers as necessary to ensure accurate submission of hours for payroll processing
- Generate ROE’s and letters of employment as required and respond to related government or external inquiries in a timely manner
- Complete quarterly reconciliation of payroll and process any adjustments required to ensure accurate T4’s at year end
- Keep meticulous payroll and employee records for audits and compliance purposes.
- Address payroll-related inquiries promptly and effectively, providing clarity on deductions, benefits, and policies
- Reconcile and prepare documentation and ensure prompt payment of all necessary filings including union dues, WCB, RRSP remittances

Preferred Qualifications
- Post secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- Minimum of 3 years experience providing HR generalist support to a multi-site environment with a focus on recruitment and employee relations
- Experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment considered an asset
- Solid understanding of Canadian employment and payroll legislation in Alberta and Saskatchewan
- Demonstrated experience reviewing payroll tax regulations ensuring all compliance requirements have been met
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with sensitive information
- Excellent problem solving skills; system savvy in Ceridian Dayforce
- Experience with Microsoft office and Google suite of products
