About the role:
Little Fingers Music is a Toronto-based educational and entertainment studio that specializes in providing primary school children with music education through song, dance, and specialized workshops. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to work collaboratively with our music teachers to help regulate classrooms, improve class management and support positive student behaviour and engagement.

This is a part-time, in-person role ideal for someone with a background in early childhood education who enjoys working in a creative, team-based environment.

Key responsibilities:

- Observe group music classes and provide regular and effective feedback on teacher’s classroom management and strategies
- Coach and support music teachers with strategies for managing young learners in a group setting up to 10 kids
- Implement behaviour regulation tools and best practices to improve class flow
- Assist in developing class routines that align with developmental needs and based on individual child’s learning needs
- Provide occasional hands-on classroom support when needed
- Collaborate with program director to document and refine classroom systems

Qualifications:

- Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE certification preferred)
- Experience working with children ages 4-8 in a classroom or group setting
- Strong communication and coaching skills
- Understanding of child development and behaviour management techniques
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, collaborative learning environment
- Vulnerable sector check is required to go into school classrooms
- Must be qualified to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen or Work Visa)

Nice to have:

- Interest or background in music/piano education is a plus
- Experience working alongside other educators in team settings
- Comfortable in speaking in front of a group of children
- Be able to transport yourself to the schools

Schedule:

- 5-10 hours a week
- Mostly after-school hours from 3pm-5pm depending on class schedules

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: From $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 10 per week
