YMCA Northern Alberta is looking for Aquatics Day Camp Coordinators to provide leadership for and create a safe, positive, and fun environment for our campers, fellow staff, and volunteers. As a Aquatics Day Camp Counsellor, you will use your passion and qualifications in aquatics to work with other counsellors in order to provide a memorable summer for our campers and your peers.

As a coordinator, you will benefit from leadership training training program, followed by a comprehensive one-week training program with the counsellors prior to camp start. You will learn and coach others on best practices in behaviour management, program design, team communication and collaboration. You will gain confidence in your decision making abilities and receive coaching and support from your lead coordinator to ensure that campers and their parents have a positive customer experience.

This is a great opportunity for those who have begun to take an interest in leading others, and want to enhance those skillsets with the mentoring and support of experienced supervisors.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Prepare day camp rosters and assist with delivery of day camp brochures or other marketing tools.
- Work with Lead Coordinators and assist in recruiting, training, coaching, and supervising day camp staff and volunteers
- Plan, organize, and facilitate a guest speaker and/or field trip each week and properly communicating schedule and arrange travel for all day camp staff and campers
- Coordinate, implement, instruct and evaluate based on the framework provided by the Preschool, Child and Youth task group
- Leading program planning sessions and evaluating day camp programming for all Summer Day Camps for ages 3-17
- Work with Aquatic Supervisor as needed

**What You’ll Need**
- Lifesaving Swim Instructor/Water Safety Instructor/YMCA Swim Instructor Required
- 2 Years teaching experience minimum
- National Lifeguard Pool, AEC, O2 Administration an asset.
- Previous Aquatics Leadership experience an asset
- High-school Diploma or in pursuit of post-secondary education in a field connected to children and youth is an asset. (Recreation, Child Studies, Education, Physical Education, etc.)
