Accounting Manager

**Financial Reporting**
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Provide regular financial reports for senior management
- Coordinate and facilitate external audits, ensuring all audit requirements are met.

**Budgeting & Forecasting**
- Assist in developing annual budgets with department managers and senior management.
- Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis and explanations.
- Assist in the creation of financial forecasts and projections to support business planning and strategy.

**Compliance & Regulatory**
- Stay informed about changes in relevant accounting regulations and ensure compliance.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.

**Team Leadership & Development**
- Supervise and guide accounting staff, provide training, and feedback.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment
- Delegate tasks to ensure efficient team operation

**Financial Analysis & Decision Support**
- Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on financial performance metrics and trends.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate the financial impact of proposed projects or initiatives.

**Systems & Process Improvement**
- Review and improve accounting systems and processes
- Lead efforts to implement new tools or processes to increase efficiency
- Continuously evaluate internal controls to reduce risks and improve accuracy.

Here is what you bring:

- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, required
- 2 to 4 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role, an asset
- Proven competency with accounting software (preferably SAGE)
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365)
- Demonstrated knowledge of accepted accounting rules, laws, and reporting requirements, preferably in a non-profit environment
- Proven skills in critical thinking, analysis, and reasoning
- Ability to adapt and commit to additional hours as required to support operations during peak times
