**The Role**:
Reporting to the Director of People and Culture, you will help develop strategies focused on talent selection, talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, and employee engagement. Your primary focus will be working in partnership to build and showcase the best team member experience. To be successful in this role, you must understand business priorities and have a strong ability to translate these into high impact work. As a critical and strategic thinker in the organization, you will help provide data-driven recommendations that improve the talent health of our organization.

As our next HR Business Partner, you will utilize strong business acumen, data analytics and the ability to collaborate and influence leaders to enable our business through people-driven strategies and roadmaps.

**What you'll be doing**:

- Deploy and measure strategic initiatives with leaders by developing a deep knowledge and understanding of their business drivers, challenges and needs,
- Work closely with our leadership team and the People and Culture team to roll out data-driven, scalable people initiatives,
- Develop action plans to improve the talent health of the organization,
- Partner with the Director to evolve organization structures and talent strategies for short and long-term scalability,
- Support our Manager, Workplace Optimization launching initiatives and doing research that aligns to business outcomes and strategic direction,
- Learn workforce planning forecasts and how to optimize growth and innovation,
- Identify solutions that drive a high-performance culture and practice using your influencing skills to get buy-in from stakeholders,
- Cultivate positive, trust-based working relationships across all levels and model Travel Alberta’s core values - Trust, Respect, Collaboration, and Integrity,
- Support our diversity and inclusion mandate, assist in maturing our corporate citizenship aspirations.

**Who we're looking for**:

- 7+ years of experience in a generalist or business partner role,
- Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or a related field, a combination of education and experience will be considered,
- Experience with ADP an asset
- You have strong diagnostic skills coupled with the ability to evaluate alternatives and to develop recommendations for solutions to complex and multi-dimensional challenges,
- You hold confidentiality and integrity in the highest regard and are known for your level of professionalism,
- You bring some project management skills and effective execution skills to ensure successful delivery of initiatives, processes, and policies,
- You have experience with moderate recruitment volumes and are very comfortable using HRIS systems (bonus points for knowing JazzHR),
- You embrace and are continuously curious about HR technology and automation,
- You have an open, approachable and are an excellent listener with a proven ability to build trust and influence leaders and teams,
- People leadership experience is considered an asset,
- You demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and resiliency in day-to-day work,

**What will help you succeed**:

- You have a proven ability to excel in a fast-paced collaborative work environment while managing multiple competing priorities,
- You bring a combination of HR experience in the following areas: workforce planning,, organizational design, employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, talent acquisition, total rewards, organizational effectiveness, and/or employment law
- Some exposure to a unionize environment an asset, not a requirement,
- You’re adaptable and a high-achiever,
- You take ownership of your work, can prioritize competing priorities and take pride in getting things done,
- You put the team ahead of yourself, you seek ways to impart knowledge and are humble,
- You are hungry for guidance and mentorship.
