The
**Corrosion Technician II** plans and performs duties involved with testing, evaluating, and installing cathodic protection systems to inhibit corrosion on various structures. This role has the opportunity to work independently with moderate supervision using direction from senior staff on customer drawings and specifications. You'll conduct various test procedures to gather data for evaluation purposes and assist senior personnel in the preparation of survey reports and final job reports.

**What You’ll Do**:

- Gather structure-to-soil potential data, soil measurements and rectifier data
- Sketch rectifiers, anodes, test stations, and other design features on prepared drawings and sketch physical features of installation site for subsequent detail
- Organize and reduce gathered data, prepare charts and tables, and assemble data for preparation of final client report including service recommendations
- Solve and make corrections to systems as approved by supervisors and recommend modifications as needed
- Provide maintenance of field test equipment, ensure good operating condition, and render minor repairs
- Mentor and share knowledge with other employees and clients

**What We Need from You**:

- Class 5 non-GDL driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and medical testing
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Technical Engineering diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- At least 2 years of relevant corrosion prevention and cathodic protection experience
- 2+ years Oil & Gas field work experience
- NACE Cathodic Protection Technician (CP2) Certification or working towards certification within the next 6 months
- Proficiency with computer software tools (Microsoft Word and Excel)
- Rectifier training, experience operating quads and snowmobiles, and safety tickets (such as First Aid, CSTS, H2S, and WHMIS) considered an asset
- Able to travel and work overtime as needed
- Outdoor work with driving required, plus occasional indoor office work
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
