You’re passionate about protecting the safety and security of your colleagues and have in-depth knowledge of the procedures and best practices needed to strategize effective security measures on a corporate scale. You leverage your communication and collaboration skills to develop more robust relationships with internal and external partners, and you’re always investigating and implementing new practices to enhance existing security systems. We need someone like you to join as our Security Operations Lead. Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll be responsible for managing the operations of the 24-hour security contact line, access control, intrusion detection, and closed-circuit television systems across the organization. You’ll also support other corporate security business functions, including tracking key performance indicators, cross-departmental collaboration, agency liaison, intelligence reports, and special assignments as required. In year 1, you will:
Reconfigure the security operations centre to improve overall security operations, including video management, alarm response, patrols, and access control.
Create a revised set of security post orders to reflect improved standard operating procedures.
Establish formal relationships with law enforcement, government agencies, and internal/external stakeholders to collect, analyze, and share intelligence as required. In year 2, you will:
Participate in the production of intelligence reports and other ad-hoc special assignments as required.
Devise actionable strategies to minimize security spending in the security operations centre.
Identify and prioritize recommendations for improvements for facilities and asset protection. What it takes:
A Bachelors diploma or degree in a related and relevant discipline from a recognized program plus 2 to 3 years recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in a security operations centre environment is preferred along with a valid B.C. Security Worker Licence.
High-level knowledge and experience of the tools of a security operations centre environment to troubleshoot issues, continually improve processes, techniques, and procedures, and prioritize effectively.
Excellent communication, listening, and diplomacy skills to liaise with other business units across the organization, provide briefings to leadership, and interact with our external agency partners regularly.
Great interpersonal and collaboration skills to develop strong partnerships that lead to higher-quality information sharing and improved situational awareness overall to benefit the safety and security of the Company.
