**World Meats** is an established and diversified meat purveyor serving the GTA and surrounding areas since our inception in 1999. World Meats has supplied the food service industry with a wide variety of meats and meat products including specialty items for our multicultural communities.

**Overview**

Portion Cutter works with wholesale sections of meat and breaks them down into smaller portions or custom cuts that can be sold to customers. They break down meats, and design signs and displays.

We are searching for a trained (Portion Cutter) Butcher to provide high-quality meats and services to our customers. As our Butcher you will perform quality inspections, use meat grinders, knives, saws, and other tools to cut meat down into smaller portions, weigh, price, and package cuts, and ensure that displays and signage are attractive and eye-catching.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares carcasses, sides, and quarters by cutting them according to specifications.
- Cuts, trims, bones, ties, and grinds various types of meat such as beef, pork, and poultry, to meet requirements.
- Performs standard meat cuts by trimming and preparing meat.
- Handles tasks like bone removal, meat grinding, special order preparation, and creating special meat displays.
- Shapes, laces, and ties roasts and other meat products using appropriate tools like boning knives, skewers, and twine.
- Receives, inspects, and stores meat deliveries to ensure quality standards are met.

**Requirements**:

- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, and quality control procedures.
- Proficiency in knife and band saw techniques.
- Ability to manipulate objects with excellent hand-eye coordination, utilizing one or both hands.
- Maintain steady hand and arm movements while working in one position.
- Detail-oriented vision for close-range inspection.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization in the work environment.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy loads.

**Working Conditions**:

- Ability to work in cold temperatures (-10/+4) degrees Celsius.
- Capability to stand for prolonged periods.
- Ability to push, pull, and lift loads weighing up to 70 lbs.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $23.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 48 per week

**Experience**:

- meat cutting: 4 years (preferred)
